Jinger Duggar Opens Up About Food Insecurity and Eating Disorder

Breaking News

Jinger Duggar, the former star of TLC's "19 Kids and Counting," has revealed in her new memoir that she struggled with an eating disorder in her early teens. Jinger, now 29, says that she would often bring food into the bathroom to hide it from her siblings.

Growing Up in Insecurity

Jinger also spoke about the food insecurity she experienced growing up in a large family. She said that there were times when she and her siblings did not have enough to eat. "We would bring our food into the bathroom to make sure we'd be able to have it," she said.

Cult-Like Beliefs

In addition to her eating disorder, Jinger also discussed the harmful cult-like beliefs that she was raised under. She said that she was taught to be submissive to men and that she was expected to dress modestly.

Life After TLC

Jinger left the TLC show in 2017 and has since spoken out about her experiences growing up in the Duggar family. She has said that she is now happier and healthier than she was when she was on the show.
